Skip to contentAt Atlantic, we are driven by the belief that theater can challenge and transform our ways of thinking and urge us to reflect on our role in society. Our Discover Success program offers educators the opportunity to engage their students both at the theater and in the classroom through workshops, study guides, educator preview nights, and student matinees with post-show discussions.
Our Discover Success program introduces young audiences to the art of simple and honest storytelling through theater and presents the opportunity for Pre-K through Middle School aged children to attend one of our Atlantic for Kids productions each season.
High School aged students may also attend one of six Atlantic productions each season. With every student matinee, Atlantic offers an extensive toolkit of educational enrichment: an in-school workshop conducted by one of Atlantic’s Teaching Artists, an in-depth study guide and lesson plans tailored to the production and academic curriculum, and a post-show discussion with the play’s cast and creative team.
Educator previews allow for teachers, teaching artists, and administrators to see a show and engage in a post-show forum with Atlantic’s education and creative teams. These collegial discussions of the show’s themes and subject matter strengthen educators’ understanding of the Atlantic and inform the study guides utilized during in-school workshops. With this added preview, Atlantic’s productions can be seamlessly integrated into the classroom.

Each main stage show is accompanied by a comprehensive study guide developed by Atlantic’s Education Team in alignment with the New York Department of Education’s Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in Theater. Atlantic’s study guides take educators and their students deeper into the story. Each guide provides a variety of discussion starters, activities, and a relevant contextual basis to immerse students in the world of the play before attending the show.
