Gregório Taniguchi (Choir), tenor, is a native Angeleno and Brooklyn resident, specializing in music of antiquity and the contemporary as chamber artist and soloist. He brings “textually keen and emotionally piercing” vitality to performances as the Evangelist in Bach’s Passions, Zadok in Handel’s Solomon, Miles Zegner in Missy Mazzoli’s Proving Up, Septimius in Handel’s Theodora — and is concurrently premiering Suzanne Farrin’s opera Macabéa (as Olimpico). From the stage to studio sessions, and performing with distinguished ensembles around the continent, Gregorio avidly supports artistic community. When home, he can usually be found baking, practicing cornetto, IDing plantlife, or knitting for his partner and nephew.
