In 2010, Atlantic broke ground on an $8.3 million project to renovate our beautiful, historic Mainstage theater in Chelsea. Our goal was to make it a state-of-the art home for our artists and their extraordinary work, and an equally comfortable home for our audiences. To date, friends like you have given more than $7.6 million towards this important project.
The generosity of our loyal audience members has made many important changes possible. We now have a spacious new lower lobby with all new restroom facilities, an expanded stage for our artists, and a new tech booth for our production crew, but there is a significant amount to be done backstage and downstairs to finish our work. We urgently need help to raise the final $650,000 to complete these renovations and meet the largest challenge in our history.
Backstage and behind the scenes, we’ve renovated our dressing rooms and built a new greenroom. Downstairs, we have added a costume room, production shop, and offices for our house management team. But right now, those rooms are empty and waiting to be outfitted with work spaces, storage cabinets, office equipment, computers and more. We need your help to complete this necessary work this year.
Give a gift of $5,000, $10,000, $25,000 or more and you will get your “Name in Lights” in our lobby. Each donor’s name is carved into a metal plaque and illuminated forever on a unique donor wall. With a gift of $1,500 or more you can join the “Final 500” membership group and receive public recognition in the New York Times, a private backstage tour of the theater, and acknowledgment in Atlantic’s Playbill for our entire inaugural season.
