Staging Success is an arts education program that integrates Atlantic’s core philosophy of acting technique and text analysis with an emphasis on ensemble building. Introducing the principals of “creating your own work,” Atlantic works closely with our partner school to develop a semester long theater project for the entire 11th grade. The semester culminates with a workshop performance.
ATC then invites seniors from the partner school into an intense after-school mentorship program, during which students will form a theater ensemble and create and produce an original work. Established professionals mentor students in specific fields of interest and students present their finished play to the public at ATC’s Stage 2. Atlantic will be expanding Staging Success in the fall of 2012 to work with grades 9 and 10, creating theater workshops that are deeply rooted in our partner school’s core academic studies.

Kick off the new year with a performance by our Staging Success education students from Park Slope Collegiate. These talented high school seniors have created Theater Heads, their own company, and mounted an original production with Atlantic mentors. The result is an inspiring, fun-filled evening of new works written by the students that includes a selection of their 10 minute plays and solo performances. We hope that you can join us to support these young artists!
