WHAT IS ATLANTIC – A CONVERSATION WITH NEIL PEPE & MARY MCCANN
David Mamet and William H. Macy came to NYU in 1983 to teach an acting technique with 25 students for two years and out of that group of company members, Atlantic Theater Company was established.
Original Company members Neil Pepe (Artistic Director) and Mary McCann (School Executive Director) talk about the genesis of Atlantic Theater Company, both school and theater, from it’s inception in 1985 to present day. Investing in ensemble and a commitment to new writing, Atlantic teaches and practices how to tell a story simply and truthfully.
ATC Uncovered pulls the curtain to show how a group of young, hungry artists created a thriving, successful, and award-winning New York City Theater Company almost 30 years strong.
SPRING AWAKENING COMES BACK HOME TO THE ATLANTIC
On the seventh anniversary of Broadway’s groundbreaking musical “Spring Awakening,” the Atlantic Theater Company, in celebration of their new social media campaign ATC UNCOVERED, brought it back home by reuniting the original Off-Broadway cast at the newly renovated Linda Gross Theater.
WHAT IS ATC UNCOVERED?
ATC Uncovered continues the conversation beyond the stage by providing an inside look into the everyday life of a theater company through the artist perspective. By connecting the audience through Atlantic’s family of artists including its Ensemble, guest artists, designers, writers and directors, followers will be treated to interactive Q&A’s, exclusive live stream coverage of ATC events, and special guest appearances.
